Visit from Author, Sophie Cloud
We were delighted to receive a visit from Author Sophie Cloud this week. Sophie came in to Years 4, 5 and 6 to read them her book ‘Whisper’. She spoke to the children about all the other books she has published and told them about the dogs’ charity that the proceeds of her book supports.
“Sophie wrote her book about a dog that was used as a messenger dog in the first world war – it was a lovely story. We were then asked to write a poem. We had a sort of contest to see who could write the best poem about a dog. My dog poem was about a dog sitting alone in a dog
shelter then his owner found him again. We enjoyed the session with
Sophie, she said that she wrote the story but did not do the illustrating.
Sophie said that it took a long time for her book to be
published and that she had to send to lots of different
publishers before it was published.”
